TECHNICAL LEAD
SEAN BROWN
Sean loves weekend rides, halloween costumes and eradicating the world of avocados.
WHO IS SEAN?
Sean joined SDA after several years of sub-contracting drafting work for us. This former sound technician rode ‘humming’ into our office on his Harley V rod and – ever since – he keeps things well-oiled and running smoothly, working through drawings and details with a machine engineer’s precision. His attention to detail and design far exceeds what you would normally expect from a Drafty, giving him the edge when approaching any type of project in any sector of the building industry.
When he’s not at SDA being our soundboard for ideas, Sean’s other great love is music. This humble guy used to be a sound tech for a number of international artists, and even did some of his work at the Sydney Opera House.
ON BEING A TECHNICIAN
There is a super geeky t-shirt which says “ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICIAN – I solve problems you don’t even know you have”. Well, I enjoy problem solving, and architects like to make problems so it makes sense I’m here.
It’s a good mixture between creativity and technical knowledge, often using creative solutions for technical problems and vice versa, always challenging both sides of the brain.
Whether it’s detailing how a building goes together to achieve the vision or finding new ways to use the software to provide the information required to do so. Working alongside talented people to take projects from concept to completion gives a great sense of satisfaction.
